Mr. Myron K. Lawson

Myron K. Lawson Sr. is a distinguished businessman, community leader, and dedicated public servant. A 1985 graduate of Southern University, he is the proud owner of Myron K. Lawson State Farm Agency and Lawson Realty, LLC. His unwavering commitment to his alma mater has led him to help raise over $10 million for Southern University. As the longest-serving board member, he has been elected to three different terms, demonstrating his enduring leadership. Among his many honors, he had the privilege of awarding Nelson Mandela an honorary doctorate when Mandela served as Southern’s graduation speaker. Myron is married to Karen Lawson, and they share a son, Myron Jr., both proud Southern University graduates.
