Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: The Southern University System seeks to appoint a dynamic individual with a vision and proven record of leadership, who demonstrates excellence in academic and intellectual accomplishments, significant administrative experiences in higher education administration and management, and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, administrators, and staff to accomplish the responsibilities of the position.
The successful candidate will have:
- An earned terminal or professional degree from an accredited institution
- 5 years executive level experience in higher education administration, financial management, resource development or related skills, and student and faculty recruitment
- Demonstrated experience at achieving the mission of a four-year institution on a local, national, and international level
- Experience in academic and strategic planning, (which includes establishing and implementing graduate level academic programs) and effective human resource and budgetary management
- Successful track record in fundraising
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
