The Southern University Alumni Federation will host a leadership summit, June 7-8, 2013, at Southern University New Orleans.

The two-day meeting in New Orleans replaces the 2013 national conference. The 2014 SUAF National Alumni Conference is scheduled for July 9-13, 2014, in Houston, Texas.

Bernette J. Johnson, the first African-American Chief Justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court, will be the commencement speaker at Southern University's graduation ceremonies.

Commencement begins at 10:30 a.m., on May 17, and will be held in the F.G. Clark Activity Center.

Retired U.S. Army General and Southern University alum Russel L. Honore' will be the guest speaker at the Southern University Army ROTC Commissioning ceremony at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 16, 2013, in A.W. Mumford Fieldhouse, Baton Rouge.

The Southern University Alumni Federation Dallas Chapter will host its annual Bayou Bash Scholarship Fundraiser, Saturday, June 1, 2013.

The 30th anniversary event will be held from 6 p.m. - 11 p.m. on the front lawn of the African-American Museum at the historic Fair Park grounds in South Dallas.

Southern University Shreveport will host Energy Camp Louisiana June 3-7, 2013, at the main campus. The camp is open to all Caddo parish high school students.

The Home Chapter of the Southern University Alumni Federation will host a Crawfish Boil and Music Festival Saturday, May 2, 2015, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at BREC Greenwood Community Park, 13350, Highway 19, Baker. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the event.

Wayne J. Riley, M.D., a native of New Orleans, advisor to President Barack Obama, and current president of Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee will deliver the Southern University New Orleans commencement address on Saturday, May 11, 2013. at 4 p.m.

U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley of the Western District of Louisiana will deliver the 2013 Commencement address for Southern University Law Center at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2013, in the F.G. Clark Activity Center on the Southern University Baton Rouge campus.

Southern University and A&M College will host Sustainability Week, April 22-26, 2013, "Creating a Culture of Sustainability: Where Blue and Gold Meets Green." The SU System president, a top Toyota executive, and others will join faculty, staff, and students from the Southern University System, for this educational event.
