SU Alumni Conference in Atlanta, July 11-15

The 2012 Southern University National Alumni Conference is scheduled for
July 11-15, 2012 in Atlanta, Georgia. This year's conference, "65 Years
of Service and Support to Southern University," commemorates the
Southern University Alumni Federation's 65th anniversary of its founding
in 1947.
Benefactor group aims to raise $1 million to support SU

The newly formed 1880 Society of the Southern University System Foundation continues to increase its membership and build a financial support network for the University.
Local business leaders and 1880 Society founding members Jacqui Vines and Richard Lipsey co-chaired, "A Gathering of Friends of the 1880 Society," membership event, June 19, 2012, at the Shaw Center for the Arts in Baton Rouge.

Southern University Shreveport TRiO programs will receive over $9
million in funding from the U.S. Department of Education. The grant
check will be presented during the press announcement Thursday, June 21,
2012 at 10 a.m. in the atrium of the Dr. Leonard Barnes Administration
Building which is located on the main Shreveport campus, 3050 Martin
Luther King Jr. Drive.

SUBR offers a new online executive MPA degree program

Southern University, Baton Rouge (SUBR) and Education Online Services Corporation are pleased to announce the launch of a new online degree--the Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA). The online degree is housed within the Department of Public Administration which is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration.

within the Southern University System, the nation's only system of
