Search committee for Southern University chancellor selects three finalists

BATON ROUGE, La. — The search committee for the next chancellor of Southern University and A&M College today selected three finalists who will visit the campus for tours and in-person interviews on Tuesday, Feb. 6 and Wednesday, Feb. 7. All interviews are open to the public and will be held at the Valdry Center for Philanthropy (598 Harding Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70807).

The interview schedule is as follows: 

Tuesday, Feb. 6
Calvin McFadden, Ph.D., Former President of Arkansas Baptist College
9:30-10:30 a.m.                                                                 

John Pierre, J.D., Chancellor of Southern University Law Center and Interim Executive Vice President for Southern University and A&M College 
1-2 p.m.                                                                   

Wednesday, Feb. 7
Carmen Walters, Ph.D., Former President of Tougaloo College
9:30-10:30 a.m.                                                                

Interviews will be live-streamed at sus.edu. Public questions/comments should be emailed to SouthernUniversityChancellor@sus.edu in advance of the interview times.

The search committee for the next chancellor of Southern University and A&M College (SUBR) will meet on Friday, Feb. 2. The meeting will be held at noon in the Southern University Board of Supervisors Board Room on the 2nd floor in the J.S. Clark Administration Building.
