The Southern University Ag Center invites all Louisiana child care providers to attend a training session, May 20-21, in Baton Rouge. Participants will receive up to nine hours of new ideas, and discover new and exciting programs. As providers, this training is an opportunity to leap into childcare training for you or your staff and gain basic or advance skills.

Xernona Clayton, a civil rights leader and pioneering broadcasting executive will be the guest speaker for the Southern University Baton Rouge Fall 2016 Commencement Exercises, Friday, December 16, 2016, at 10:30 a.m., in the F.G. Clark Activity Center.
Leading the 429 fall SUBR candidates for degrees will be top student Laura Syori, who is graduating magna cum laude, with a bachelor of science in engineering from the College of Sciences and Engineering.

Two Law Students worked with the Urban Restoration Enhancement Corporation’s Pre-Law Institute (News)
his past semester SULC students Burgundy Hammond and Christian King worked with the Urban Restoration Enhancement Corporation’s (UREC) Pre-Law Institute. Burgundy and Christian served as the instructors of the Institute, Fifteen high school students from the Greater Baton Rouge area participated in the Institute, which took place at the Southern University Law Center over the course of fifteen weeks.

SUNO to team up with the New Orleans museum (News)
Southern University, New Orleans' (SUNO) Center for African and African-American Studies (CAAAS) and the New Orleans African-American Museum of Art, Culture and History (NOAAM) will present a curriculum-based exhibit entitled "African Cultural Connections" starting Friday, September 25, 2009 and concluding January 2, 2010.
The opening event for the exhibit will be on September 25th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 1418 Gov. Nicholls St.
All events are free and open to the public.

SUSLA and Shreveport Federal Credit Union will host nationally syndicated radio talk show host Tom Joyner for National Census Day on Thursday, April 1. The Tom Joyner Morning Show will broadcast live from the main campus of SUSLA, 3050 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, 5 a.m. - 9 a.m.
The public is invited to come complete and mail-in their census form.

With 119,636 votes cast, Southern University's M-9 student cheering section claims 16th place to advance to the second round of voting in the Naismith Student Section of the Year Award. Fans and supporters also helped the popular cheering section place at the top among the SWAC schools participating in the contest.
