The Southern University and A&M College System Board of Supervisors today installed officers for 2017 and held a swearing-in ceremony for newly appointed members during its regular monthly meeting.

Taking the oath of office for the Southern University Board of Supervisors during the January 6, 2017, SU Board meeting in Baton Rouge, were two newly appointed members and three reappointed members.

Xernona Clayton, a civil rights leader and pioneering broadcasting executive will be the guest speaker for the Southern University Baton Rouge Fall 2016 Commencement Exercises, Friday, December 16, 2016, at 10:30 a.m., in the F.G. Clark Activity Center.

Leading the 429 fall SUBR candidates for degrees will be top student Laura Syori, who is graduating magna cum laude, with a bachelor of science in engineering from the College of Sciences and Engineering.

Southern University System, LCTCS announce Pathway Scholarship

Agreement guarantees admission for two-year college honors students

The Southern University System (SUS and the Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS), November 30, 2016, announced the LCTCS/SUS Pathway Scholarship, an annual transfer scholarship worth up to $1,500 annually for active Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society student members who wish to transfer to either Southern University Baton Rouge (SUBR) or Southern University New Orleans (SUNO) upon completion of an associate's degree at an LCTCS college.

SU Board names SUNO chancellor, elects 2017 officers

The Southern University (SU) Board of Supervisors, Friday, November 25, 2016, named interim chancellor Lisa Mims-Devezin as chancellor of Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO).

The SU Board of Supervisors also unanimously elected Ann A. Smith as chair, and the Rev. Donald R. Henry, as vice chair for 2017, during its regular meeting held in New Orleans.
