SU's Human Jukebox headed to the Super Bowl -- again

It's Super Bowl time again for the world famous Southern University Marching Band.
The band, nicknamed the "Human Jukebox," will perform in New Orleans during pre-game activities of Super Bowl XLVII being held February 3, 2013, in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.This will mark the fourth Super Bowl performance for the SU marching band.

SU Alumni Home Chapter to hold crawfish fundraiser, May 2 (News)
The Home Chapter of the Southern University Alumni Federation will host a Crawfish Boil and Music Festival Saturday, May 2, 2015, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at BREC Greenwood Community Park, 13350, Highway 19, Baker. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the event.

The Southern University Alumni Federation Dallas Chapter will host its annual Bayou Bash Scholarship Fundraiser, Saturday, June 1, 2013.
The 30th anniversary event will be held from 6 p.m. - 11 p.m. on the front lawn of the African-American Museum at the historic Fair Park grounds in South Dallas.

SU and Mentorship Academy form an abiding relationship (News)
Southern University is expanding its footprint to downtown Baton Rouge through a partnership with Mentorship Academy. Entering into its second year, the partners signed a three-year agreement to share space at the Mentorship Academy which is located in a six-story downtown building and in an adjacent annex where additional student services are offered.

SU welcomes $1.6 million from private gift, and corporate grant

In addition to an anticipated gridiron victory in the 44th Bayou Classic, Southern University wins $1.6 million in support including a $1.1 major gift from alumnus Antonio "Tony” Clayton and a $500,000 grant from Capital One, both presented during the SU System Board of Supervisors meeting today in New Orleans.
