a.m., Saturday, May 14, 2011 in the F.G. Clark Activity Center on the
Southern University, Baton Rouge campus.
SUNO to hold ribbon cutting for Information Technology Center and Support Our Southern launch

Southern University, New Orleans, (SUNO), will cut the ribbon for its Information Technology Center on Wednesday, March 16 at 11 a.m. in front of the building on the Lake Campus at 6801 Press Drive.
The University will also hold the Support Our Southern SUNO launch as a part of the program.
Visitation for Dr. Emmett W. Bashful to be held Friday at SUNO

Visitation for Dr. Emmett W. Bashful, the first chancellor of Southern
University, New Orleans (SUNO), will be held on Friday, March 4 from 1
p.m. to 4 p.m. in the University's gymnasium at 6400 Press Drive. Dr.
Bashful died Saturday morning, February 27, in Baton Rouge at the age
93. He led SUNO from 1959 to 1987 and had served as chancellor emeritus
since his retirement.
SU Civil Rights Commemoration Project seeks participants

The SU Civil Rights Commemoration Project will kickoff during the 2011 SU Founders' Day with the first in a series of video recording sessions to collect civil rights stories from former students/faculty/administrators and the public. The sessions will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Thursday, March 10, in the SU Field House.

SUNO enrollment highest since Hurricane Katrina

The official 2011 Spring enrollment for Southern University, New Orleans (SUNO) is 3,318, representing the University's highest enrollment since Hurricane Katrina. This figure also signifies a 91 percent return of SUNO's pre-Katrina enrollment of 3,647 students.
