Southern University, New Orleans' (SUNO) enrollment has risen for the Fall 2010 semester and has reached its highest number since Hurricane Katrina. The University's success comes despite projections that the enrollment would dip below 2,900 students due to new higher admission standards.

The first ever Capital One bank branch in Shreveport's MLK neighborhood opened Thursday September 2.The branch — the first bank ever in that specific area and the only one within a 5-mile radius, is located across the street from Southern University at Shreveport. The school was also part of the team of bring the bank to the area.
EBR students set to earn credits through SU classes
